From Manuscript to Marketplace: What Authors Should Prepare

A finished manuscript is a major milestone, but publishing a book also requires clear commercial and catalogue information. Preparing these details early makes the review and listing process much smoother.

Prepare the book basics

Have your final title, subtitle, author name, short description, full description, category, language and publication information ready. If the book already has an ISBN, include it with the submission.

Know your formats

Decide whether the book will be sold as an ebook, a physical book or both. Digital products need a final delivery file. Physical editions need inventory, weight and dimensions so shipping can be configured correctly.

Think about the reader

A marketplace listing should make it clear who the book is for, what problem or interest it addresses and why someone should choose it. Strong positioning helps the product page communicate value without exaggerated claims.

Review the commercial terms

Authors should understand pricing, commission, payout timing, refunds and distribution permissions before publication. Crevilot currently uses a 70% author and 30% platform commission model, subject to the final author agreement.
