AUTHOR AGREEMENT
This page defines the technical agreement framework for Crevilot authors. Final legal wording must be supplied or approved by the client and an appropriate legal adviser before it is treated as the final contract.
Technical workflow: Active
Legal wording: Pending final client / legal approval for remaining clauses
Current version: framework-2026-09-14
The marketplace commission model is already agreed for the technical build. Other legal and operational clauses remain placeholders until approved wording is provided.
AUTHOR SHARE
Tracked as vendor earnings in Dokan.
BOOKSTORE SHARE
Tracked as Crevilot admin commission.
The sections below define the required business areas only. They are not legal clauses and should be replaced with client-approved legal wording.
Crevilot is a non-fiction marketplace serving readers across English-speaking markets. Approved categories include spiritual and faith-based books, self-development, education and learning, business, leadership, memoir and related non-fiction. Fiction titles are not accepted for publication on the marketplace.
Define ownership, licences, author warranties and copyright responsibilities. Final wording pending approval.
Define payout timing, minimums, methods, reporting and any processing conditions. Final wording pending approval.
Define how refunds, chargebacks and reversals affect author earnings and bookstore commission. Final wording pending approval.
Define who may set or change prices, approve discounts and run promotions. Final wording pending approval.
Define notice periods, breach handling and how either party may end the publishing relationship. Final wording pending approval.
Define delisting, remaining inventory, customer downloads, order fulfilment and archive handling after exit. Final wording pending approval.
Confirmed commercial model: 80% author earnings and 20% Crevilot commission. Crevilot also charges a fixed US$0.50 platform service fee per completed book sale. Third-party payment, banking, currency conversion, withdrawal and payout charges are borne by the author where applicable.
The website now records a technical acknowledgement when a new Dokan author completes registration. This is an audit trail for onboarding, not a substitute for final legal approval.
Registration
The author registration form requires acknowledgement of the current agreement workflow.
Audit record
The system stores acknowledgement status, timestamp, agreement version and agreement page URL against the vendor account.
Admin review
Selling access remains manually approved, giving Crevilot an approval checkpoint before publication.
Final legal version
When approved legal wording is supplied, the agreement version should be updated and existing authors should re-acknowledge that final version before continued publication.
Before launch, the client or appropriate legal adviser should provide or approve the complete Author Publishing & Distribution Agreement covering the areas above. The current page deliberately avoids inventing copyright, payment, refund, pricing, termination or exit terms.
